Quiet morning at London Mithraeum Bloomberg SPACE

Beneath the busy streets of the City of London lies a 2,000-year-old Roman temple once used for secret rituals dedicated to the god Mithras. Hidden 7 metres below modern street level, this underground space brings ancient Londinium back to life with darkness, mist, sound, and glowing lights that recreate how the temple may have felt during Roman times.

The temple was originally discovered in 1954 after World War II bombing damage exposed parts of Roman London. Today, Bloomberg rebuilt the Mithraeum close to its original location underneath their European headquarters, alongside hundreds of Roman artefacts found during excavations.

Yes — it is completely free to visit. You can walk in, but booking a free timed ticket online is recommended because entry to the temple area happens in small timed groups every 20 minutes
